Why Content Strategy is Actually Good for Your Blog

With a content strategy, you're basically saying, this is what I'm going to talk about for the next week/month, what I'm going to give away.

For all the panster bloggers that wait for inspiration to strike or blog daily without a real “plan”, this one is for you! You might be thinking… “content strategy”? Blech. But wait, it’s a GOOD thing!

I know it’s so tempting to just write anything and everything in your blog. I get it. But why not actually make some plans with your content so that you can drive home a consistent message? Maybe plan a few free

With a content strategy, you’re basically saying, this is what I’m going to talk about for the next week/month, this is what I’m going to give away, this is going to be my content upgrade, and then this is what my end goal looks like. You’ll put numerical standards and metrics in place to see if your content is actually building your follower base or if you’re just putting words out there into the great unknown.

It took me a little bit to recognize that not only did my own following want to know how to grow their followers and subscribers, but to also get all the work done in a relatively short amount of time without affecting quality of output. Therefore, my focus for my blog has been strategic development – aligning ways to increase followers and grow with sales while being super productive at doing it. My blog appeals to the online entrepreneur that actually wants to have a life outside of working on social media all the time and now by having a consistent approach to my blog, they keep coming back for more to learn about tips and tricks on how to get it all done – with quality – without sacrificing family and personal time.

Planning is easy. I do all of mine in a batch, so I know how to plan my images on all platforms – Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram. Oh, and my blog, too. All of these platforms require a different sizing, and I try my best to match up to all of them.

I’d be lying if I said that productivity wasn’t a big part of my strategy. I believe that success comes to those who have a great work/life balance and I certainly don’t want to spend all my time blogging and writing content. I’d love to spend more time with my family, actually.
